For a first private yacht charter, the most useful preparation is knowing what happens at each stage. Comparing boats, receiving an estimate, confirming a reservation and boarding are different steps. Keep the details together so that a promising option becomes the booking you actually intended.
All H2OH charters depart from Puerto Aventuras Marina. Guests staying elsewhere in the Riviera Maya travel to the marina; the yacht is not a replacement for the road transfer from the hotel.
1. Choose the experience and full passenger count
Choose a two-hour coastal sunset cruise, a three-hour Xpu-Ha charter or a four-hour InHa snorkeling charter. Your captain confirms the route and water activities for sea conditions.
Count all adults and children, including infants, and share children’s ages. Compare the named yacht’s capacity and layout. A capacity match tells you whether the vessel can suit the headcount; it does not establish availability on your date.
Tell the team about any essential boarding assistance, meal request or activity before booking. Some guests may prefer to stay aboard. Do not assume every yacht has identical bathrooms, shade, water toys or entertainment equipment.
2. Read the estimate as an itemized plan
Charter prices depend on your yacht, date, group size, duration and package. Use Build Your Charter for an estimate, then confirm your selected product and final terms in the Online Store before paying.
Check the included guest allowance and any additional passengers, marina fees, optional transportation, selected extras and payment charges. The maximum capacity is not the guest allowance included in every fare.
Regular all-inclusive charters include captain and crew, meals and a standard open bar. Family and Custom Series inclusions differ. Match the package in the estimate to the one you intend to book rather than relying on a general description of yacht vacations.
3. Distinguish an estimate from a reservation
| Stage |
What it establishes |
| Yacht shortlist |
Possible vessels for your needs |
| Availability check |
The reported options for a specified date and time |
| Estimate |
A price breakdown for a proposed selection |
| Booking confirmation |
The reservation and terms actually accepted |
An inquiry or estimate does not by itself reserve a yacht or collect payment. Follow the selected booking channel’s instructions and check the named vessel, date, departure, duration and passenger count on the confirmation. Keep any accepted special arrangements with that record.
4. Arrange the journey to the marina
If you need transportation, request an optional, separately priced transfer and confirm your exact pickup address. We will confirm your pickup time. Plan to arrive 20 minutes before departure.
Review the transport and marina directions. Your hotel pickup, marina arrival and yacht departure are separate appointments. Confirm the return destination too, especially when members of the group stay in different hotels.
5. Prepare guests without overpacking
Share the meeting instructions, confirmed timing and organizer’s contact in one message. Bring the personal items appropriate to the booked outing, such as swimwear, a towel and a secure bag. Check the selected package’s outside-food and drink rules before telling guests to bring supplies.
Read the applicable weather and cancellation terms before payment and keep the crew’s contact details accessible. A forecast or a photograph is not a guarantee of sea conditions, visibility or wildlife.
6. Let the crew lead the departure
At boarding, follow the crew’s meeting and safety instructions, raise any last-minute practical concern and confirm the day’s outline. The captain determines suitable navigation and activity conditions. Everyone can enjoy the same private outing without being required to enter the water.
The goal is a clear handoff: the guests know where and when to arrive, and the crew has the confirmed passenger list, package and accepted requests. That makes the first charter easier to enjoy than a collection of assumptions about what every yacht trip includes.
