Campeche combines a historic coastal city with archaeological and nature journeys elsewhere in the state. Start by separating the city stay from the longer excursions. A regional list can make places look close together even when they require very different travel days.
Campeche’s official tourism site introduces San Francisco de Campeche as a fortified city. Build a walk around the historic streets, public spaces and the defensive heritage you want to see. Check individual museum or fort opening arrangements before committing to a route.
